I had the good fortune to be able to take Michael Dempster‘s 8 part online Scots language course at the end of August. I’m not sure if he will be running it again but all the presentations are recorded and available on this Youtube playlist. The focus is very much on the grammar of Scots and Michael makes the excellent point that Scots grammar is is still a big (though unrecognised) part of Scottish speech. The emphasis is a little on West Central Scots, but it draws on the author’s substantial experience of working with Scots speakers from all parts of the country. The course is highly detailed and a major achievement, in my view.
The slides and teaching resources are available here.
