BT have chosen local ‘dialect’ phrases for the covers of their 2022 ‘phone book’ directories. Unfortunately (and predictably) they failed to check them with anyone. Scots phrases seemed to be used randomly chosen and not matched with the areas in which they are spoken. ‘Dinna Fash’, for example, on the Glasgow phone books is not generally thought as a Glasgow phrase, though used elsewhere.
Poor BT came a bit of a cropper elsewhere, too.
